Participate: Re-Write History!
Black History, Women's Month and Indigenous People:
We must re-visist history and include a greater diversity of opinions.
Participation
This program is to develop a deeper understanding of the lives and motives of the civil rights leaders and educators of people of African ancestry globally with an emphasis on the diaspora.
If you would like to participate please send an email to educator@education-epicenter.net
There is a list of leaders that we are covering first (see below), but I invite you to suggest any leader of African negroid origins as it pertains to political marginalization and imperial colonialism and slavery. What this means is the argument that “everyone evolves out of Africa” is not seen as valid for this project. Social, political and economic injustices and the subsequent subjugation of people because of their skin is a large factor in who is chosen.
As time and the project evolves, Latin people from North, Central and South America will be included along with Native Americans and women. The Project will have a second focus on women specifically for the “Mirror of Seshat” site for March of 2011.
